Right from the family recipe books, Mom Hirzel's Goulash is an American staple that the whole family loves. Made with Dei Fratelli Seasoned Diced Tomatoes, beef stew meat, onions, peppers, and carrots, this recipe is packed full of veggies and spices created for a large family.

Ingredients:

  • 1 (28 oz.) can Dei Fratelli Seasoned Diced Tomatoes
  • 4 Tbsp. Vegetable Oil
  • 2 1/2 lbs. Beef Stew Meat, cubed
  • 2 Cups White Onion, sliced
  • 2 tsp. Garlic, minced
  • 1 Cup Red Bell Pepper, diced
  • 1 Cup Carrot, sliced into half moons
  • 1 Cup Water
  • 4 tsp. Paprika
  • 1 tsp. Salt
  • 1 lb. Egg Noodles, cooked

Instructions:

  • In a Dutch oven, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add beef stew meat and brown on all sides, about 5 minutes. Remove meat and set aside.
  • Reduce heat to medium and cook onions and garlic in oil for about 5 minutes, or until onions are tender.
  • Return meat to the pan and add Dei Fratelli Seasoned Diced Tomatoes, red pepper, carrot, water, paprika, and salt. Reduce heat and simmer for 2 hours, or until meat is tender. Add more water if necessary.
  • Serve over egg noodles.

Chef's Tip:

If you do not have a Dutch oven, use a stock pot or a soup pot!
