  1. In a Dutch oven, cook bacon until crispy, about 8-10 minutes. Set aside to cool and crumble. Add onion, green pepper, and garlic to bacon grease. Sauté until veggies are tender, about 10 minutes.
  2. Add 3 cups milk, potatoes, Dei Fratelli Petite Diced Tomatoes, bay leaf, salt, pepper, and hot sauce. Bring to a slow boil, reduce heat, and simmer for 10 minutes, or until potatoes are tender.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together remaining 2 cups of milk and cornstarch. Add mixture to chowder to help thicken. Add shrimp and bacon and continue cooking for another 5 minutes. Remove bay leaf before serving.
